We work with two types of client organizations. Here’s a brief description of the two types and associated client lists.
INTERNAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ORGANIZATIONS
Typically these clients provide information technology (IT) services internally to their own company or division. They must clearly understand their company's business and plan the strategic use of technology to support that business direction. For example, Universal Underwriters provides commercial property and casualty insurance to automobile dealerships. Their IT department provides application systems to support policy processing, claims, underwriting, actuarial, billing, financial and management functions as well as all desktop, laptop, network and voice systems. These clients place heavy emphasis on their business operations as well as the strategic application of technology for competitive advantage.
Our work with these clients has included one or more of the following:
building stronger partnerships with their business colleagues
managing their portfolio of projects
review their organizational structure and staffing
management coaching
project reviews
workshops or seminars
attendance at Leaders' Forum
MiddleHaven consultations or Fireside Chats
"We consciously did not want a Big Six firm, we already had one. We wanted a fresh look by someone who had no financial interest and no expectation of a continuing relationship...Strider & Cline's ability to put a team together with the right experience was critical to our having confidence in them."
"This team earned everyone's respect by actually reading the materials we provided and listening thoughtfully and critically to a lot of people. They brought a combination of technical, analytical, and people skills with the result that we felt we could take their analysis seriously."
"I'm an inherent skeptic about consultants, but we got many times our money's worth in the advice they gave us. We intended this to be a one-time assessment, but we were so impressed, we've invited them back for a post-assessment review." Bill Shkurti, Chief Financial Officer, The Ohio State University
Eileen, on short notice, came to our aid in an unusual way. We needed someone with considerable IT senior management experience to guide us and assist us to develop an in-house organization structure, complete with management job descriptions and recruiting profiles for an IT organization we were building from scratch. Not only did she respond swiftly to the urgency of our request, but she found time to research, to draft, to discuss with us organization profiles and essential job definitions for senior IT management positions. She interviewed our existing IT people, both consultants and contractors, and she conducted thorough interviews with our business managers and executives to understand our culture, our operating style, and our needs. I'm personally grateful for the good work that was done, and I've used her work as a model for other organization units I manage. I couldn't have done the job in the time allotted without Eileen's superb guidance and assistance and counsel. Jim Goughenour, Corporate Vice President, Technology, Mfg. Engineering and Quality, Sealy, Inc.
Eileen was able to help me get closer to my business customers, to align the IT department with the business, and to educate my staff, our customers, and myself about how we can better work together and deliver quality solutions to business problems. Mark Wilkins, Vice President, Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company

PRODUCT COMPANIES
Typically, our product company clients produce and sell a software or hardware product or a combination of both. Bally Systems, for instance, produces slot data management systems for their casino clients in the gaming industry. These companies typically place a heavy emphasis on engineering (software, hardware, firmware, etc.) supported by production or manufacturing, distribution and customer service operations.
Our work with these clients has included one or more of the following:
capability review of their product development processes
management coaching
project management coaching
inspection techniques
project retrospectives
workshops or seminars
attendance at Leaders' Forum
External pressures forced three separate massive requirements changes during our most recent NT software development project. Wayne's project management wisdom and skill in deducing key problems helped us keep this project on track. His coaching helped me, my team, and my boss keep perspective and stay in communication through very difficult times. I would recommend Wayne to any development manager who is attempting a challenging project or any development team who wants to improve their effectiveness and communication. A Software Development Manager
Wayne was masterful at our project retrospective. He drew in the team's participation with individual preparation via email and phone. Then at the off-site warmed the group up so that key project events were remembered, discussed, and then wonderful learnings emerged. The event concluded with specific action plans that were developed with great enthusiasm. A year later many managers and engineers are still quoting the learnings such as -- if it isn't tested, it's broke -- to justify actions on new projects. I see posters from the event on people's cubes all over the building. Peter J. Hayward, Program Manager, Rockwell Automation
